Chocolate, Rose & Oud was my full-bottle purchase from Aaron Terence Hughes, but unfortunately, also my least favorite of the 5 that I’ve tried from the brand.
Chocolate, Rose & Oud was a 2019 release, back when Aaron Terence Hughes used a different, much harsher (and/or higher amount?) of ouds than in the years after. Chocolate, Rose & Oud had a similar oud scent as his Oud and Tobacco, Oud & Vanilla, of which I only liked the latter.
It opened barnyardy, with the oud being overwhelming and the chocolate was mostly a bitter tinge with mild sweetness. However, my main gripe with this fragrance was the rose, which came across slightly sour and off.
Sidenote: This fragrance has been re-released as Oxytocin apparently, although I assume that formulation will be quite different from the one I reviewed, as I know a lot of his ouds (among other things) have changed around the time that Chocolate, Rose & Oud was discontinued.
